Welcome to the website of the DAAD partnership on economic development studies. This partnership brings together twelve universities in eleven countries and aims at improving research, teaching and knowledge transfer in the fields of money, trade and finance from the perspective of economic development.

In the area of teaching, we organize the exchange of lecturers between the partner universities and the joint development of teaching material. In the area of research, we conduct joint research and hold international workshops on current issues of international trade, international finance and economic development. In the area of knowledge transfer, we aim at assisting partner universities in developing countries in building new post-graduate programs in international and development economics.

The partnership is financed by the DAAD’s program line for partnerships with universities in developing countries (“Fachbezogene Partnerschaften mit Hochschulen in Entwicklungsländern”). It is administered by HTW Berlin, the only member from a developed country among the partner universities. The partnership counts with the close cooperation of the Virtual Institute (Vi) of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

On this website, you find information on the project’s latest activities. Faculty and staff from member universities also find access to online depositories of course outlines, reading lists and teaching material.
